“Baler”, A Filipino Love Story with Historical Value

One of the best Filipino movies for me, I am from Maria Aurora a nearby town from Baler and i never known how great the story of the Baler Siege is until i watched the movie. I’m surprised to know that the love story of Celso and Feliza really did exist as what is mentioned on the last part of the movie. The direction is good, so as the cinematography. Though a lot of people keep on saying that there are character mismatches in the film, the actors and actresses particularly the lead characters really did a great job.During the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival, Baler bagged 10 awards. Baler, A New Paradise for Surfers

Baler is the capital of Aurora Province. It is located at about the mid point, on the east coast of the main island of Luzon. The town faces the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean, which gives it the surf that it is renowned for.There is a wave just about all year in Baler, but the peak periods for consistent good quality waves is fromOctober to February.

Before, when we say Surfing, Siargao and La Union are the most talked about destinations. Today, Baler establishes its name as another top surfing destination in the country.
